Naples Palmetto Ridge High School Season opener Tournament
The Varsity Wrestling Team returned home Saturday after capturing the runner up trophy at the Naples Palmetto Ridge High School Season opener Tournament featuring teams from throughout the state. On the way to the finals our Grapplers defeated Naples H.S.61-16, Lakeland George Jenkins H.S. 47-30, Port Charlotte H.S. 51-18 and Gulf Coast H.S. 78-6 before a grueling battle to the wire in the semifinals with host Palmetto H.S. 54-49. Unfortunately we needed more gas in the tank as our young men were soundly defeated in the finals by north Florida power house Lake Gibson H.S. 53-6.
