Celebrating Those Who Have Served

Christopher Columbus High School has an on-campus courtyard area - Patriot Plaza - which pays tribute to alumni who have served in our nation’s armed forces. The plaza, which features an extraordinary statue of an American Eagle holding the American Flag, was recently renovated in 2016 to include new marble tile background, lighting, patriotic works of art and a plaque with more than 400 names of alumni who have served in our country.

The plaza honors veterans, inspires patriotism and embraces freedom through the statue illustrating the service and sacrifice of Columbus’ military heroes. It is a place for current and future Explorers to honor and celebrate those before them. Patriot Plaza was made possible by the generosity of Vietnam War Veteran and alumnus Michael Carricarte, and his family.
