eLearning in Action

All Columbus classrooms feature 75" Clear Touch Interactive display panels and our science labs enhance scientific inquiry with the use of X-plorer GLX self-contained mini computers and a DigiView Research Microscope. The faculty is continuously trained in the uses of new technologies to ensure greater integration with the learning process.

ELearning at Christopher Columbus High School Is...

List of 4 items.

  • Curriculum, content and tools that are current and relevant

Critical thinking, problem solving, communications and collaboration, creativity and innovation, and digital literacy are the 21st century skills necessary for our Explorers to thrive in an increasingly information-rich world.
  • Instruction that adapts to the needs of the individual student

Students may choose apps that best facilitate their learning experience and have easy access to a multitude of educational online resources to compliment the subject matter they are studying (ie... applications to specific learning activities, e-books, explanatory videos, dictionaries).  Finding resources that appeal to their unique learning style, may motivate students to engage more in the learning process.
  • Learning that is not dependent on time and place

Columbus’ 2-to-1 Apple learning ecosystem complements our existing Smart interactive whiteboards, databanks and other digital resources.  It provides networked technology for effective two-way communication and collaboration between teachers and students to extend learning beyond the classroom.  Flipped and blended learning is increasingly the way our teachers continue to challenge students to become lifelong learners.
  • Resourceful … Creative … The iPad furthers 21st Century learning

Our school features the seamless integration of cutting edge technology and WiFi access throughout the entire campus. Our two-to-one Apple program helps ensure that our students receive the best interactive and innovative blended learning experience.
