Visit CCHS

Come experience Christopher Columbus High School’s family atmosphere first-hand during Open House on Saturday, November 4, 2023 (2 sessions - morning/afternoon).

This is the best opportunity to learn about the school and meet members of the Columbus family. Columbus’ entire administration, faculty and staff are present to answer questions and showcase programs and facilities. Many students and alumni also participate.

During Open House, our demanding curriculum is displayed by the success of our most recent graduates, who earned scholarships valued at over $25 million dollars. We offer 31 AP courses, 28 dual enrollment courses and 92 honors classes.

Athletics & Activities

A member of the Florida High School Athletic Association and the Greater Miami Athletic Conference, Columbus is the only private school in the state of Florida to compete at the 8A-7A level, which means that our Explorers play in the most competitive districts and have the greatest amount of exposure to college coaches recruiting student-athletes.

Columbus won the Floyd E. Lay Sunshine Cup All-Sports Award in 2009, 2010, 2012, 2018, 2021 and 2022 for the best high school athletic program for boys in Florida (8A/9A) and the 2008, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 Miami Herald Major Sports Award representing the best boys sports program in Miami-Dade County (Large Schools).

At CCHS, students also compete in non GMAC clubs such as: Roller Hockey, Fishing and Scuba Diving. Intramural activities including dodgeball, soccer, flag football, and basketball provide friendly competition and fun among class year levels after school.
