Standardized College Entrance Exam Preparation

In order to monitor individual and school-wide progress on the high-stakes standardized college entrance examination, the Counseling Department administers and monitors a series of testing tools. In preparation for the SAT, Columbus currently requires all students to take the PSAT 8/9 in freshman year and the PSAT/NMSQT in both sophomore and junior years. For the ACT, students take the Pre ACT in freshman and sophomore years, while all juniors take the ACT during school on a special exam day.  All test results and their interpretations are made available to students, teachers, and parents through individualized and group presentations. Columbus also offers various opportunities for test preparation throughout the school.
Columbus students have the opportunity to meet with admission officers that visit our school throughout the year for our annual college fair and college representative visits. In addition, our students take advantage of year-round programming geared towards navigating the college process. Including but not limited to College Admission Workshops, a College Bootcamp, an Admissions Case Study, College Presentations, and much more.
