Explorers spent a week in our nation’s capital to visit museums and memorials with students from across the country. They met with members of Congress and were immersed in our nation’s political system.

The students visited the office of Rep. Mario Díaz Balart and discussed domestic/foreign issues with his Chief of Staff, Cesar González (c/o of 1993). The group also ate lunch with DC lobbyist Omar Franco (c/o 1983) and Perry Adair (c/o 2012) at the Florida House. They were also greeted by Rep. Carlos Gimenez (c/o 1971) and toured Capitol Hill with his Legislative Assistant Carlos Castro (c/o 2005). Lastly, Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar welcomed us to the Capitol and invited us to the House floor by her Legislative Director Josh Duncan.
