MFP Students Tour Northeast Colleges

Last week, the Mas Family Program took 39 Explorers on a 5-day tour of universities in the Boston and Providence areas.
The boys met with admissions reps at 9 different colleges where they were able to meet with alumni, sit in classrooms, and experience meals at the school dining halls. They also saw a Bruins hockey game, walked a lot of the Freedom Trail, tried candlestick bowling - unique to the Boston area, and even had a couple of snowball fights.

It was the first out of state tour since COVID-19 (November 2019) and the program director, Sylvie Galvez-Cuesta, had almost forgotten how truly meaningful these experiences can be for the students.

"The boys learned a lot about different types of curriculums, the college application process, and the importance of fit when choosing a school in the future," Galvez-Cuesta said. "I know this was life changing for many of them, and I pray the trip served as a catalyst to help illuminate their future paths."
