Golf Team Captures 1st Tournament Win

The Explorer varsity golf team captured their first tournament win of the year and it was a good one.

The team won the Catholic Quad Invitational up in Broward County, defeating St. Thomas Aquinas, Archbishop McCarthy, and Belen Jesuit.

They were led by sophomores Andres Atrio and Hans Risvaer who both shot 73 (+2) on the day in some very windy and wet conditions. Sophomore Max Fonseca chipped in with a 76 and senior Justin Rodríguez made birdie on the final hole to shoot a 77. Sophomore Christian Figueredo shot a 79 and just like that all of the explorers were in the 70’s yet again.

It’s a great time to start playing well with the postseason beginning next week!
