SENIOR APPRECIATION DAY – APRIL 24

Seniors, we hope that you are as excited about Friday as we are; it’s going to be a special and fun day at CCHS. In accordance with county guidelines, here is some more information for you and your parents, information that will help make the day go smoothly, efficiently and safely, and a few points that we need you and your families to abide by:

  • The pick-up time will be anytime between 9:00 and 11:00 am, Friday morning. Two hours should suffice, and that cuts down on the exposure period for all involved.
  • We have been asked if parents or other family members can attend; the answer is YES, of course. The stipulation is that everyone must be in one car; we cannot allow more than one vehicle per family. Also, do not carpool; students should not ride together. Thank you for your cooperation with this.
  • NO ONE can exit the vehicle at any time; please, stay in your car. There will be future opportunities for photos and gatherings; Friday is not that day.
  •  Everyone in the car MUST be wearing a mask or have facial protection; that is an absolute requirement and will be enforced by the police officer on campus.
  • This is a drive-through, pick-up situation. Everyone will enter off of 87th Ave, and then drive straight ahead to the designated pick-up location. We ask that you pop your trunk when you reach the pick-up spot, to better expedite the process. You will then exit immediately out to 32nd Street. Please, do not attempt to stop or park your vehicle anywhere in the parking lot.
So, what will you be receiving? After careful consideration and much thought, the Administration and staff members came up with a design for the first-ever Senior Class yard sign. You guys will love it, because it captures the spirit and energy of the Class of 2020. You also will receive a gift bag, containing a newly-released model of exclusive Explorer socks, that will look stylish with any footwear!

Gentlemen, we want Friday to be a fun and positive chance for you to return to campus, and a quick opportunity to see your favorite teachers and administrators. This is NOT in lieu of a graduation ceremony; there WILL BE a graduation; when, where, in what fashion, etc., is clearly subject to review, but graduation will eventually take place.

See you guys on Friday; understand this is optional, and not required in any way, but we certainly look forward to having you back on campus – this is your day! Should you not be able to make it, please let us know, and arrangements will be made for you to receive your commemorative gifts. Should you or your parents have any questions, please feel free to email me at jlynskey@columbushs.com or Mr. Pugh at dpugh@columbushs.com. Until then, stay healthy, and God bless you and your families.

Adelante,

Mr. Lynskey
