Explorers Finish 6th at Last Chance Invitational

The cross country team had a solid showing this week in Clermont, Florida at the Last Chance Invitation.
The boys were invited to compete against 30 of the best teams in the state and finished sixth.

Kevin Kerjean had a stellar performance, dipping under 17 min for the 5k after only being back from injury for a few weeks.  Malcolm Brown was the team’s No. 1 runner for the first time this year and Anthony Bergnes cruised by runners as he sprinted to the finish as he helped round out the top 4.

The team now gets set for the postseason starting this Friday. The boys are trending hard as they seem to personal record 'PR' every week at this point.

The JV race was also littered with personal best performances.

Marcus Mata and Nicolas Trujillo led the way up front as they finished the 5k just over the 19-minute barrier. The JV team is comprised of perhaps the largest group of freshmen in quite some time, who give the Hellions hope to continue their dominance into the future.
