Musician Leo Casino joins CCHS Jazz Ensemble

Grammy-nominated saxophonist and composer Leo Casino joined Mr. Copper and the Columbus Jazz Ensemble Tuesday afternoon to play some tunes for Explorers on campus after school.
 
Casino – also a filmmaker, actor, model and activist – has played on campus before and spoke to Explorers about his life and musical experiences.
 
With over 30 years of show business experience, Casino has some pretty impressive credentials. He is a:
  • Grammy-nominated composer and saxophone artist
  • Recorded 100+ songs
  • Scored/acted in 18 movies
  • Appeared on the Geraldo, Maury Povich and Today Show
Casino recently performed at the Memphis Jazz Festival and Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival. He has also performed with many greats, including George Benson, Earth, Wind & Fire, Neil Diamond, Jimi Hendrix, Donny Hathaway, Peter Tosh, Neville Brothers, Miles Jaye, Bob Marley, Gloria Gaynor, Robert Flack, Lionel Richie, Grace Jones, Meat Loaf and Jaco Pastorius—to name just a few.
