Valedictorian & Salutatorian Announced

Christopher Columbus High School announced Friday, April 17, Jared Coleman has been named valedictorian and Michael Berry salutatorian for the graduating class of 2020.

Coleman, with a weighted GPA of 6.05, is a National Merit Scholar finalist, National Hispanic Recognized Scholar, Silver Knight General Scholarship nominee, National Honor Society President, co-founder and president of CCAN (Childrens Cancer Awareness Network), member of National English and National Science Honor societies. He’s been accepted to Johns Hopkins University, Duke University, Vanderbilt University, University of Virginia, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Georgia Tech, Northwestern University, George Washington University, UM, FSU and FIU. Coleman will be attending the University of Florida Honors Program.
 
Berry, with a weighted GPA of 5.95, is a National Merit Scholar finalist and National Hispanic Recognized Scholar, Scholar Athlete: Cross Country and Track and Field all four years, varsity letterman in track sophomore year, member of Campus Minister, FBLA state qualifier, member of National and Science Honor Societies and co-founder of Fresh Start for Veterans service project. He’s been accepted to Georgia Tech, Rice University, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University of Michigan, Purdue University, University of Notre Dame, Tufts University, Texas A&M, UCF, Embry Riddle, Virginia Tech, Baylor, UF and UM. Berry is currently undecided between Rice, Georgia Tech and the University of Florida Honors Program.
