Conrad Innovators & Engineers Week at Columbus

The STEM Engineering program would like to recognize the following students for their accomplishments and contributions.

In a competition that lasted 6 months against 700 teams from around the world, the Columbus STEM Club team was recognized as Conrad Innovators in the Aerospace & Aviation category. The distinction of Conrad Innovator denotes that students have excelled in the competition by submitting a noteworthy Business Plan that has met (or exceeded) the requirements that reflect our core value of innovation. This badge of excellence is bestowed upon these students by the Conrad Foundation as an honor that can be carried along their educational career[s] as a source of pride and ownership in passing the litmus test of entrepreneurship. Conrad Innovators also qualify to join our network of Conrad Challenge Alumni at the end of the Challenge season!

As a school, we'd like to recognize Felipe Solorzano, Erick Gonzalez, Nicholas Guzman and Daniel Parrondo.

The Conrad Challenge was founded by Nancy Conrad in honor of her late husband, astronaut, innovator, and entrepreneur, Charles “Pete” Conrad Jr. The Conrad Challenge is an annual, multi-phase innovation and entrepreneurial competition that brings together a dynamic community of innovators and entrepreneurs from around the world driving a collaborative movement to develop extraordinary and viable solutions to benefit our world in one of four areas: Aerospace & Aviation, Cyber Technology & Security, Energy & Environment, and Health & Nutrition.

On February 19, engineering students at Columbus conducted activities during all four lunch periods at the cafeteria with robotics, flight simulators, engineering and coding in recognition of National Engineers Week.

As a school, we'd like to thank the following students for sharing their passion for engineering with our students:
Ethan Jimenez
Joaquim Carvalho
Ryan Vidal
Gabriel Paz
Erick Gonzalez
Daniel Saez
Nicholas Guzman
Adrian Barbosa
Diego Espinosa
Jorge Quintana
Justin Parrondo
