Planned Giving

Composing a Legacy

Planned giving is a method of supporting Christopher Columbus High School that allows donors to increase income and secure tax benefits while significantly benefitting the future of CCHS.
Ways to give:

List of 3 items.

Gifts by bequest may be for a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your total estate, or the amount remaining after all debts, taxes, and other expenses have been paid. Your gift may be designated to a specific area of interest or left unrestricted to give CCHS the greatest flexibility over time.

When ownership of an existing policy is irrevocably assigned to CCHS, the cash value of the policy may be a tax-deductible gift (to the extent that the law allows), as may be all future premium payments. By establishing a new policy specifically for the school, you can make a substantial gift for a relatively modest annual outlay.

You can donate property to CCHS, but retain the right to use the property for your benefit as long as you live. Such gifts may present a current charitable deduction and avoid potential capital gains tax on the appreciation.
Tax laws are complex. Always consult with your own accountant or tax attorney
for professional advice on tax-advantaged giving.

Christopher Columbus High School is a private, Roman Catholic, college-preparatory high school, conducted by the Marist Brothers of the Schools. We aim to make Jesus Christ known and loved, as we prepare young men for higher education and for their continuous challenge of harmonizing faith, culture and life. We foster a family spirit among all who are committed to the success of the school and promote opportunities to work together as a community of learners.

Columbus is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and is a member of the National Catholic Educational Association.
