Explorers Qualify for Robotics World Championship

For the first time in our history, a Columbus team will be going to the Robotics World Championship.

Two Columbus Robotics teams competed in the South Florida Regional VRC State Championship at Archbishop McCarthy High School this Sunday. Competing against the top 44 teams in the region. Team 11342A (Explorer 1) team ended with 3 wins and 3 loses and Team 11342B (Explorer 2) ended with 3 wins and 3 loses, placing 26th and 23rd overall in the first part of the tournament. 
 
During the 16 alliance team elimination tournament, Team B (ranked 10th) was eliminated during the quarter finals, but the A team (ranked 13th) pulled one Hail Mary match after another to make it to the semi-finals. Team As loss was only to the number one ranked and eventual State Champion team from NSU University School.

Team 11342A (Explorer 1) will be going to represent Columbus against 800 teams from over 40 countries in Dallas, TX for the VEX Robotics World Championship April 25-27.
