Track & Field Finished 2nd at States

The Columbus Track & Field team competed at the FHSAA Class 4A State Championship at the University of Florida this past weekend. 

The Explorers finished 2nd overall with 68 points right behind Niceville High School with 77 points. The 68 points scored is the highest team total in Columbus history at the state meet.

Darren McQueen (100 meters), Shaddai Carter (Long Jump), and the 4x400 relay team took home gold winning state titles in those events.

Top 8 finishers are below:
100m- Darren McQueen 1st place (10.56), Durian Moss 5th place (10.73).
200m- Darren McQueen 3rd place (21.11), Durian Moss 4th place (21.15).
300H- Darren McQueen 4th place (38.22).
4x100- Foster, Moss, Desrosiers, Moore 5th place (41.66).
4x400- Moss, McQueen, Foster, Cardero 1st place (3:12) * School record & #3 in the US*
4x800- Nunez, Dabby, Ruiz, Mata 3rd place (7:54)
Long Jump- Shaddai Carter 1st place (23.04 ft)
Triple Jump- Shaddai Carter 7th place (44ft)
Javelin- Gus Alfonso 3rd place (181.07 ft)
