Guzman Finishes 2nd at Senior Nationals

Last weekend, a group of Columbus wrestlers traveled to Virginia Beach, VA to wrestle in the NHSCA High School National wrestling Championships.

Senior Christian Guzman wrestled and made the Senior National finals at 113 lbs.

In the semifinals, Christian defeated the #14 ranked wrestler in the country who beat him last year at this tournament. In the finals he wrestled the #12 ranked wrestler in the country from Ohio losing 8-5.

Christian finishes his career as a 4X All American at the national level and will be wrestling at Division 3 power house North Central College in Naperville, IL next year.

Derrick Hart finished 3-2, which was two rounds from All American status, in a very tough Junior heavyweight division. Sophomore Arturo Sanchez and freshman Zachary Ruiz both finished 2-2 in their divisions.
