Columbus Model UN Wins 1st Team Award at FIU

This past weekend, Columbus Model UN visited Florida International University for their annual high school model un conference: FIMUN. This is a conference that has been going for 34 straight years!
Additionally, FIU Model UN is an extremely competitive collegiate program, maintaining a top 10 ranking over the past decade. So, our men had to be impressive if they were going to be successful at this competition.

We are pleased to announce the boys fully lived up to the Columbus name and reputation by taking home six individual awards:

Enrique Villamil: Best Delegate (1st Place)
Gonzalo Palenzuela: Outstanding Delegate (2nd place)
James Sacher and Joseph Alonso: Honorable Delegates (3rd place)
Sebastian Santana: Verbal Commendation (4th place)
Sven Stumbauer: Verbal Commendation (4th place)

Along with fellow Explorers, Martin Seals and Jorge Samudio, they were able to collect enough points to take home our first team trophy: Outstanding Small Delegation (2nd place for teams of 10 or less).
