Explorers Finish 3rd at GMAC Tournament

After two days of tough competition, the Explorers wrestling team finished 3rd out of 32 teams at the Greater Miami Athletic Conference Tournament held at Coral Reef Senior High School.

The grapplers came home with 10 individual medals (out of 14 weight classes) including 1st place finishes by Chip Guzman (106 lbs) and Dylan Mira (145 lbs). Gian Rodriquez (220) and Derrick Hart (285) finished in 2nd place in the heavier weights and helped bring in some much needed points for the team.
 
Aiden Gasper (126), Gavin Buck (132) and Joshua Marquez each placed 3rd while Rocco D’Ascoli (152), newcomer Nolan Vergel (170) and Dan Van Arman (195) rounded out the 10 Explorers who placed top 4 in the toughest conference in the state.
