Hellions XC Weekend of Races

The Hellions raced in two locations this past weekend - Jupiter and Bunnell, Florida.
The Varsity runners ran in Northern Florida against most of the top teams in 4A and came out victorious. The team handily beat their rivals, Creekside and Bolles, for a critical win that will send the boys into the post season with their eyes on securing another district and regional title, while remaining focused on competing for the state championship in November.

Chris and Nick Ivonnet finished first and second for the Hellions, followed behind by Alvaro Canarte and Adrian Bichara.  Marcus Mata ran his best race of the year and Sophomore Gio Armas ran a season best on this difficult course.

The rest of the team raced in Jupiter in a challenging and entertaining course that had them traversing rolling hills and deep sanded trails. The boys were spent upon crossing the finish line. They were led up front by Freshman Danny Garcia, who rebounded well after recent struggles.

After next week’s race on Saturday, the team will be cut back to only 10 runners who will enter the post season.
