October Debate Successes

This weekend senior Adrian Noy came in 3rd place at the South Florida Catholic Forensic League’s first tournament of the year.

Adrian’s only loss came to the eventual winner of the tourney. His hard work should be lauded! Adrian’s success tacks on the list of victories for Columbus in October.

If you see the following students, please congratulate them on their success and service: Nick Gonzalez and Alan Munchy both improved in their second varsity tourney against the nation’s top talent. The duo will be debating next at Florida Blue Key tourney next weekend.

Congratulations to Phil Castro who narrowly missed quarterfinals last national tourney. His only losses were to the eventual second and third place winners. This is a massive improvement in just his second varsity tournament ever.

Congratulations to the team of Brandon Gustafson and Davis Rabin, as well as Oliver Cavalla and Andres Cornide, who participated in their first and second varsity debates, respectively.

Thank you to Jan Andretta, Mathew Monroy, Noah Sastoque, Nick Gonzalez and Alan Munchy, they helped judge a tournament over the weekend which benefitted schools in economically disadvantaged local communities.
