Anglers Club Fishing Report

Twenty-eight members of the Anglers Club headed south to Islamorada for their annual fishing trip at Bud N’ Mary’s Marina aboard the Miss Islamorada.

The boys headed out into Florida’s state waters for a full day of fishing and bonding as a group.

Multiple species of fish were caught. Mutton snappers, cobia, mangrove snapper, yellow tails, rainbow runners, Spanish mackerel, strawberry grouper, and even a hermit crab was caught while bottom and free line fishing.

At the end of the day the boys had a great time on the waters as the returning members bonded with the new club members.

Congratulations goes to Nicholas Couso for catching the largest mangrove snapper, Benjamin Cosio for catching the biggest mutton snapper, and for Sebastian Iglesias for passing the “sleeping on the job” torch to Ethan Rebozo and for catching his first cobia. The boys caught their bounty and brought home fresh fish for their family to feast. More importantly, trips and experiences like this give kids like C. Alvarez a place to belong within the Columbus community as he was the star of the day being dubbed Shiner by the returning club members.
