Columbus Plays Host to Big Questions Debate

The debate team hosted the first Big Questions debate of the school year.

We had 5 schools in attendance: Braddock, Carol City, Ronald Reagan, Miami Gardens (middle) and ourselves.

Over 60 kids got a chance to compete, debating the topic Resolved: Humans are primarily driven by self-interest.

After three rounds of competition, we had three students finish with undefeated records. In 4th place, Christopher Anderson finished 3-0 and missed the top 3 by speaker points. Tied for first place, the novice team of Marcelo Villar-Ojito & Kevin Calogne (sophomores) finished undefeated and were tied with the top team from Braddock for first place.

Our students did an incredible job helping run the tournament and providing tough competition for the other schools.
