VARSITY WRESTLING FINISHES 2ND AT TRI COUNTY TOURNAMENT

The Varsity Wrestling Team finished 2nd overall behind Jacksonville Fleming Island at the 4th Annual Tri County Championship, held at Olympic Heights High School in Boca Raton. Grappling against 27 teams from Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties, as well as teams from Naples, Orlando and Jacksonville, seven Explorers came home with medals. Freshman Sebastian Melguizo finished 1st at 126 lbs. while teammates Justin Valdes (11th grade - 113lbs.) and Charles Huffman (11th grade - 120lbs.) brought back silver medals. The remaining four Explorers placed 5th in their respective weight classes - Gavin Buck (9th grade -106 lbs.), David Milton (11th grade - 138lbs.), Henry Fernandez (12th grade - 220 lbs.) and Dylan Perez (11th grade - 284 lbs.).
