Angler Club All-or-Nothing Bass Fishing Tournament

This past weekend, 38 Columbus Anglers Club members and some other students participated in the Anglers Club 1st Annual All-or-Nothing Bass Fishing Tournament.

This tournament marks the second implemented fishing tournament for the club.

The boys woke up early to receive their tournament wrist bands at 6:30 am and be the first to get the early morning bite. They fished at their local spots in search for largemouth or peacock bass.

In the freshmen division, Mario Hernandez caught the largest peacock bass that measured 18.5” while Kenneth Romeu won the largemouth category with a 17.5” largemouth bass. In the sophomore division, Luis Perez was the sole winner with a 20” peacock bass. Junior Luis Sanchez won both categories for the junior class division with a 20.5” peacock bass and a 16.25” largemouth bass. The senior division was a nail-biter, as Matthew Patterson and Sebastian Hernandez were in a two-way tie with a 16 3/4” peacock bass. Matthew Patterson was declared the winner by tournament tie breaking rules. Andrew Alonso won the largemouth category for the senior class with a 16 3/4” bass.

Congrats to all who participated in the event and special thanks to Coach Dukes for always putting on a great event!
