XC Finishes 6th at State, Fernandes 2nd Overall

The Varsity Cross Country team finished 6th at the FHSAA Cross Country State Championship this past week, a great improvement from last years' 18th place finish.  

Senior Deshay Fernandes was the individual state runner-up with a 5k time of 15:44  (5:02 per mile for 3 miles). This ties for the second best placing in Columbus history for an individual.
 
The future looks bright for the Hellions, as they return 4 of their 5 top runners.
