About Us

All-Male Learning Environment

We Teach To Boys' Strengths

When choosing a school for your son, it is important to consider the benefits an all-boys Catholic school like Christopher Columbus High School can offer. Though the first thought that might enter your mind as a parent is that 'no girls' means fewer distractions for the young men but various studies suggest that the benefits of an all boys’ education are much broader.

As our Principal David Pugh has said before, "The all male environment at Columbus offers an atmosphere free from stigma and stereotypes, and provides an education with a strong competitive and active component."

Explorers benefit from our ability to:
  • Help them focus on academic and extra-curricular activities without added pressure.
  • Build a secure environment in which they receive the right balance of boundaries, high expectations and freedom to explore within them.
  • Offer an engaging curriculum, specifically developed for the ways they think and learn, helping build their confidence and pride in their abilities
  • Raise expectations of what Explorers can achieve, encouraging each young man to achieve his potential and discover his own unique interests and talents.
  • Put in place experiences which promote camaraderie and lifelong friendships between Explorers which celebrate rites of passage and tradition.

Alumni Feedback

Columbus taught me to take on the world and prepared me for life's journey. It taught me spiritual and social values. It prepared me academically to master a career. I believe Columbus was key in molding who I am as a husband, father, businessman and citizen. My closest friends all came from there and all who graduate CCHS share a common bond and pride to call one another Columbus brothers. ADELANTE!

Columbus has shown me what a sense of community is, not only while roaming the halls of the school but it continues to resonate in my daily life. The brothers, faculty and staff at the school have given so much for the students, and their hard work and dedication continue to model tomorrows leaders. The brotherhood and fraternity we share is often replicated, but can never be duplicated.
