Columbus Golf Team Wins Again

On an absolutely beautiful weekend in Ft. Myers, the Columbus golf team took first place in the annual 36 hole South Florida PGA West tournament at Crown Colony Golf and Country Club.

With lightning fast greens, tight fairways, and a lot of wind, it was no easy task. The team shot 286 (-2 as a team) on day one and followed that up with a 295 (+7 as a team) on day two to take home the hardware by 15 strokes over Lakewood Ranch and eight other teams.

The Explorers were led by Christian Figueredo who shot (-2) for the tournament, placing 2nd individually. Max Fonseca (6th place), Sebastian Kawas (8th place), Victor Herrera (12th place), and Hans Risvaer (14th place) all played solid rounds to help the team to victory.
