Let us pray for the victims and families of the Surfside Building Collapse

The Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 11, verse 28 reminds us: “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.” The Surfside building collapse has stunned the world and affected personally members of our Columbus community.

Pope Francis prays that “Almighty God will grant eternal peace to those who have died, comfort to those who mourn their loss, and strength to all those affected by this immense tragedy.” In the spirit of Saint Marcellin Champagnat, we place our trust in Jesus Christ through the intercession of Mary Our Good Mother as we pray for the repose of the soul of those gone before us, for those missing, for the comfort and strength of their families and friends, and for the intentions of first responders and rescue workers, government leaders, and all at the service of those affected by this tragedy. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer:

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known
that anyone who fled to your protection,
implored your help or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother;
to you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions,
but in your mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Saint Marcellin Champagnat, pray for us.
Mary Our Good Mother, pray for us.
And let us remember, to pray for each other.

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Blessings,
