Anglers Club Beach Cleanup

This past Saturday, the Anglers Club completed its annual beach cleanup and fishing clinic.

The volunteers spent 1.5 hours cleaning portions of the Old Rickenbacker Bridge and Hobie Beach.

The result ended with a total of 288 gallons of trash collected and removed from the shoreline preventing it from entering the ocean.

After the beach cleanup, the club hosted 1.5 hour fishing clinic in which the boys caught grouper, grunts, and mangrove snapper. The boys received a free rod and reel combo from the FWC and FishFlorida. This gave the kids the opportunity to fish with their big brother(s), dad, and friends along the bridge and shoreline after the beach cleanup. This event is intended to bring awareness to be more conscious of the items that we buy and how we should discard it.
