Flying Club Visits Miami Executive Airport

The Flying Club visited Aviator Zone Academy, a flight school at Miami Executive Airport.

The club members met with the owner of the school Felipe Santiago, and our own alumni instructors Chris Perez ‘18 and Garrett Duell ‘12 to discuss the career and hobby opportunities afforded by the aviation industry.

When speaking with the school owner, who in addition to being a flight instructor, is also a Spirit Airlines Captain on the Airbus A320, the students gathered a taste of the career benefits associated with being an airline pilot. After examining the “numbers” of investing in a career in aviation and what one can expect in returns, the club members exited the school to the exciting part...the flight ramp! There three Cessna aircraft were parked waiting for them.

The top-of-the-line four-seater and two-seater trainers are decked with the latest technology that helps pilots better fly with more information and safety features at their disposal.
