Anglers Club IGFA Seminar

The Anglers Club traveled up to Dania to attend a special seminar presented by the International Game Fish Association (IGFA).

The Explorers were taught about the reasons for conservation, fishing rules, regulations, sequential hermaphroditism, and catch and release practices.

The IGFA also hosted a jig tying seminar in which the boys tied their own jugs and then used them to go fish. Peacock bass and Mayan cichlids were two of the species of fish that were caught using their jigs. The jig tying will give the boys the foundation to start tying their own jigs and flies for years to come.

Opportunities like this give our boys direct access to the industry leaders who can pass on their knowledge to the youth.
