Catch for Kids Project

On Presidents’ Day, two members of the Anglers Club - Carlos Cornide and Nicholas Valdes – hosted their Senior Mas Family Program Project: Catch for Kids Fishing Clinic at Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park.

The Explorers spent 6 months organizing and fundraising this project with dress down days and receiving grants through Fish Florida.

There were 35 kids in attendance from the San Juan Bosco Clinic which serve the young and old, different nationalities weather their young or old, working poor and or unemployed.

Their goal was to educate kids who don’t get the opportunity to fish on the sport of fishing. Other members of the Anglers Club and Spearfishing Club joined in by serving as first mates to ensure that it was a successful event. The kids spent seven hours outdoors enjoying fishing and each other company under the bright Florida sun.
