Lynskey Takes on Additional Development Role

Assistant Principal John Lynskey ’78 has assumed an additional role at Columbus in the area of development.

Effective this week, Mr. Lynskey will work closely with President Thomas Kruczek and Associate Development Director Alfonso “Flash” Fernandez in the area of fundraising and school advancement.   He will keep all his current duties as Assistant Principal.

Mr. Lynskey has spent 40 years at Columbus, counting his time as a student.  For the last six years, he has worked with the student body in a supervisory role as an administrator.  Previously, he was a social studies teacher for 30 years, a time during which he also coached varsity football, track, and served as a member of the campus ministry team.   He is one of the few Explorers who has been inducted into both the school’s main Hall of Fame and Athletic Hall of Fame.

Over the years, Mr. Lynskey has been able to foster excellent relationships with alumni of many different class years.   He is well-known for his compelling, easily relatable teaching style and personality as well as for his great love for Columbus.

“I am pleased to have John join the development side,” said Thomas Kruczek.  “He is a perfect fit and will help our school reach even greater heights.”

“I’m honored and pleased to take on this new role, and I look forward to building on 40 years of relationships,” said John Lynskey.  “I am an Explorer for life and view this opportunity as the perfect way to further my contributions to Christopher Columbus High School,” he added.
