Columbus Golf Team Tryouts

The Columbus Golf Team will be holding tryouts on Tuesday, August 6th with the first tee time starting at 10:00 am.

Your son may be asked to come back for a second tryout the next day, Wednesday, August 7th, should he advance past the first day. It is recommended that your son have some prior golf experience and knowledge of the basic rules of golf in order to try out.

We ask that he arrive at least one hour before in order to warm up, sign in, and pay for the round. If you are late, you may not be allowed to tryout due to time constraints. Golfers will play one 9 hole match. The tryout will be held at Melreese International Links located near the Miami International Airport. The cost is $20 per player, which includes one 9-hole round of golf.

Should the weather not cooperate, please attend anyway in order to sign up and receive information on a make-up day.

He must have an FHSAA sports physical on file with the school turned into Br. Herb Baker in the Athletic Training room prior to our tryout. Also, please bring your own water to stay hydrated throughout the round. Players must wear proper golf attire, have their own clubs, and must have some prior golf experience. Sunscreen/Hats are highly recommended!!

Keep in mind that in high school golf, the golfers carry their own clubs or may use their own pull cart. Should you have any questions, please contact our head coach Michael Marinelli at or 305-223-5650 ext. 2217.
