Track Team Captures Regional Title

The Columbus Track & Field team won the Region 4-4A Championships with 70.5 points, ahead of 2nd place Piper (70 points) and 3rd place Miramar (63 points).

The team was in 4th place with three events remaining when a number of Explorers stepped up to give the team the points needed. Cameron Daniels and Xzavier Henderson led the way in the 200m and 4x400m, Kevin Kergean in the 1600m and Courtney Holmes and Sebastien Cantave in the 4x400m to bring home the championship.
 
These are the Explorers that have qualified for next weekend’s state championship meet, with a chance to defend their title from last season:

Nic Aixala - 4x800  
Malcolm Brown - 4x800m 
Sebastien Cantave - 4x800m (1st), 4x400m 
Kevin Kergean - 4x800m (1st), 1600m 
Xzavier Henderson - 200m, 400m 4x400m
Courtney Holmes - 4x400
Cameron Daniels - 200m, 400m, 4x400m
Tristan Dodge - High Jump
Elijah Roberts - Shot Put
Gary Cooper - Shot Put
