Wrestlers Finish 2nd at District Tournament

The Varsity Wrestling Team finished in second place behind Southwest and ahead of Coral Park, Coral Gables, Miami High, Braddock, Ferguson and South Miami at the District 15 Championship held at Coral Park High School.

Ten Explorers out of the 13 weight classes entered will advance to the Region Championship, held next weekend. Seniors Charles Huffman (120 lbs.) and Carmine D'Ascoli (195 lbs.) both placed first at the tournament while Robert Dusendang (113 lbs.), Justin Valdes (126 lbs.), David Milton (145 lbs.), Ryan Gonzalez (152 lbs.) and Brent Becerra (170 lbs.) all finished second.
 
Dylan Mira (132 lbs.) and Gian Rodriquez (220 lbs.) placed third overall and Ralphie Hueso (182 lbs.) finished in fourth place.
