Anglers/Spearfishing Report

The Anglers Club and Spearfishing Club had a productive weekend.
 
The Anglers Club participated in their first out of two-night fishing trips for the year down in Islamorada aboard Captain Michael out of Robbies. The group fished from 7:30 pm - 12:30 am and caught a variety of fish that has great table fair. Even a bone fish was caught by Manuel Escobar.
 
On Saturday and Sunday, the Spearfishing Club completed their second round of the level 1 freediving course with alumni Christopher Tavera. Julian Sanchez, Tobias Castillo, and Coach Dukes participated in the 2-day course, learning the proper breathing technique and safety procedures before hitting the deep blue on Sunday.
 
On Sunday, the group ventured out to 900ft of water to practice duck dives, breath up techniques, breath holds, and recovery.
