Felipe Lerena ’28 Represents Argentina at South American Games

Christopher Columbus High School is proud to announce that Water Polo student-athlete Felipe Lerena ’28 is currently representing Argentina’s National Team at the South American Games, taking place from May 10–16, 2026.

The tournament features competition among many of South America’s top national teams and serves as an important step in Argentina’s preparation for the upcoming U16 World Cup in Zagreb, Croatia, later this summer. Croatia is widely regarded as one of the premier countries in the world of water polo, making this international opportunity especially significant.

Since his freshman year, Felipe has been a starter on the Columbus Varsity Water Polo team and served as a co-captain this season. He has distinguished himself through his athletic ability, leadership, discipline, and commitment to the program.

Beyond the pool, Felipe exemplifies the values of the Columbus Brotherhood and Marist education through his involvement in Aquatics for All, where he helps support and mentor children with special needs. His humility, service, and dedication continue to positively impact those around him.

The Columbus community proudly congratulates Felipe on this outstanding accomplishment and wishes him continued success representing both Argentina and Christopher Columbus High School on the international stage.
