Liturgical Worship

Encountering Christ in Celebration

At Christopher Columbus High School, liturgical worship is at the heart of who we are. Through the celebration of the Eucharist, Adoration, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation, we are reminded that God is with us—in the classroom, on the field, and in the quiet moments of prayer.

We come together as a Marist family to lift up our hearts in praise and thanksgiving, to seek forgiveness, and to encounter Christ in community. Our liturgies are reverent and creative, traditional yet alive—driven by student leadership and infused with the spirit of brotherhood.

Whether you're serving at the altar, proclaiming the Word, leading music, or simply praying in the pew, there is a place for every student to experience God through liturgical worship.

Daily Prayer & Sacraments

Chapel Open for Prayer

Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

The Genevieve Abraham Chapel is open throughout the day as a quiet refuge for prayer and reflection. Students and faculty are encouraged to stop in at any time—to give thanks, to ask for strength, or simply to be still in God’s presence.

Daily Mass

Monday – Friday at 7:10 AM | Genevieve Abraham Chapel

Start the day with the Eucharist in a peaceful setting before the bustle of school begins. This daily Mass is a beautiful way to ground yourself in prayer and grace.

All-School Masses

Throughout the year, the Columbus community gathers in the gymnasium to celebrate Mass as one family. These moments are powerful expressions of unity and faith, as we pray for one another and mark the seasons of the Church together.

Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a powerful invitation to return to God’s mercy and begin again. As a school rooted in the Gospel, we provide opportunities for students to receive this sacrament during key liturgical seasons. Priests from the Archdiocese are invited to campus to offer confession in a respectful, prayerful setting that encourages reflection, healing, and growth.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

Adoration is a sacred time of stillness in the presence of Christ in the Eucharist. Throughout the school year, students are invited to encounter Jesus in the quiet of the chapel—whether for a few moments or an extended visit. These opportunities for communal Adoration allow us to center our hearts on God and grow in the mystery of faith.
