Coming together in challenging times is what the Christopher Columbus High School community does! While our traditional graduation ceremony has been postponed, we’re coming together virtually to celebrate our 2020 graduates on Saturday, May 23, at 7 pm EST.
This celebration of 390 Explorers will integrate some traditional ceremonial components, such as the opening prayer by our Salutatorian Michael Berry, playing of the national anthem by our Music Director Keith Cooper, comments from Principal David Pugh and President Thomas Kruczek, and a year-in-review video produced by students in CCNN Live.
Scheduled to last about an hour and a half, the event will be streamed on both the school’s Facebook and YouTube pages LIVE, with celebrations continuing on our social media accounts.
Here’s how you can be part of this historic gathering to celebrate Columbus’ Class of 2020:
To watch the celebration on YouTube LIVE, visit the official Christopher Columbus High School YouTube channel
. When the livestream begins at 7 pm EST, the video will appear at the top of the page with a “LIVE NOW” icon—just click on the video to start watching. Subscribe to the channel to receive a notification when the live feed starts.
Smart TV: If you own a smart TV, open the YouTube app, search for the Christopher Columbus High School and follow the instructions above.
Social Media: The fun doesn’t stop on the livestream! Keep the celebrations going on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram by using #Explorers20. We’ll be keeping an eye on this hashtag and sharing content from our Explorers.
Can’t tune in live? A recording will be available on Facebook and YouTube to watch whenever it’s convenient for you. The Columbus Administration also remains committed to honoring these graduates with a proper, in-person commencement when circumstances permit large gatherings again – hopefully this summer.
