Featuring the Art of Eric Maspons
Born in Havana, Cuba in 1938, Eric Maspons is a Miami-based Cuban artist whose works primarily depict surreal cityscapes. A trained architect, Eric began his education at Villanova University in Havana before being exiled to the United States in 1961 and completing his education at the University of Miami. Eric was a founding member of MGE Architects, where he specialized in designing exceptional healthcare facilities while continuously developing as a prolific painter in his free time.
Following his retirement from MGE in 1997, Eric dedicated himself to his passion as a multi-disciplinary artist, producing hundreds of paintings, drawings, sculptures, ceramics, and stained glass panels. Always rooted in his architectural training and passion for structural forms, the evolution of Eric’s painting style is evident in his work, which include structured cityscapes, geometric patterns inspired by buildings, and his most recent abstract expressionist works.
Eric lives in Pinecrest, Florida with his wife, Maria, and five cats, where he enjoys drawing and painting at his domino table. He is a proud father to two sons, seven grandchildren, and one beautiful great-granddaughter.
