There were nine Columbus students who were given a "superior" rating for their projects at the 2010 South Florida Regional Science Fair which was held on January 23rd at Miami-Dade College's North Campus.Eight students were given and "excellent" rating. Of the superior projects, two students were chosen to compete in the STATE SCIENCE FAIR. Those students were Danny Chomat and Michael Rodriguez who appear above holding trophies. Danny Chomat was also chosen as an alternate to compete in the international science fair.

The students that received a "superior" rating were: Fernando Alvarez, Daniel Chomat, Rafael Moas, Victor Moas, Jesus Melendez, Michael Rodriguez, Michael Ronconi, Jose Velis, and Robert Wolberg. The students that received an "excellent" rating were:Shea Bernardo, Luke Blanco, Daniel Cervoni, Albert Fiore, Mark Maguire, Daniel Narciso, Christian Perez, and Corey Zimmer.
