Christopher Columbus High School Announces Finalist and Commended Students In the 2007 National Merit Scholarship Program

Br. Patrick McNamara, Principal of Christopher Columbus High School, has announced that senior Paul Milani (pictured above 2nd from the left in the bottom row) has qualified as a finalist in the 2007 National Merit Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships which receives about 1.4 million entrants each year. High school students enter the program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®).  Paul, was among the highest scoring entrants in the nation and now has the opportunity to continue in Merit Scholarship Awards Competition. 

In addition, Br. Patrick announced that five seniors were named Commended Students in the program; John Gregory, Jose Insua, Andrew Pinon, Ryan Shay, and Juergen Wassmann. These students placed among the top five percent in the PSAT/NMSQT test.
