The “Castaways Against Cancer” will kayak the Florida Keys for a 9th consecutive year in support of the American Cancer Society.  They’ll push off from the beach on Virginia Key early in the morning on May 31st.  Then on June 6th, 7 days later, they will land on the beach of the Wyndham Resort in Key West.  Over the past eight years, the Castaways have raised more than $160,000.  Three of the team members are Columbus alumni: co-founders and CCHS faculty Steve O’Brien (’72) and Bob Linfors (’85) and Patrick Linfors (’94).  Bob is a cancer survivor himself, overcoming non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2005.
