Armando Del Valle ('11) Chosen as Gatorade's Florida Athlete of the Year

The program honors top high school student-athletes in 12 varsity sports for their athletic excellence, academic achievement, and exemplary character. The selection process is administered by ESPN RISE, the nation's leading sports and lifestyle magazine for teens, and the Gatorade high school sports leadership team.

In narrowing and evaluating the list of candidates for the honors, the team works with top sport-specific experts and a media advisory board of accomplished, prep sports journalists. Thus, the Gatorade Player of the Year award has become the most prestigious award in high school sports.
