In honor of President’s Day, Christopher Columbus High School held a grand dedication ceremony for its new Patriot Plaza which pays tribute to alumni who have served in our nation’s armed forces.   The plaza features an extra-ordinary statue of an American Eagle holding the American Flag which was donated to the school by alumnus Michael Carricarte.  There are only 5 such statues in the world, as the artist broke the mold after the fifth statue was completed.  A plaque with the names of alumni who served in the armed forces is found at the base of the statue and the wall behind it features a plaque with famous patriotic quotes.
