Nominate your Most Memorable Columbus Athletic Moments
The top 50 moments will be permanently featured in the Columbus Athletic Hall of Fame
A “Columbus Athletic Hall of Fame” area is being constructed near the school gym to honor Columbus’ long tradition of
athletic excellence.
In addition to featuring memorabilia and a special plaque with pictures of the Athletic Hall of Famers
from the past 50 years, there will also be
a special display that will highlight the 50 most memorable moments
in Columbus Athletics History.
We want to choose these moments from submissions from the Columbus family. Throughout the years there have been thousands of
games, competitions, championships, goals, touchdowns, and home runs. So many sports -- so many memorable moments for
Columbus Explorers from different decades. Maybe your most memorable moment was when the 2003 Baseball Team won the state
championship on their graduation day and received their diplomas on the field; or when Tim Plummer made the end zone fumble recovery from
Mike Shula that helped the ’82 football team get to the state championship; or when the ‘72 basketball team won the district championship, beating
#2 ranked Key West; or the ‘66 football victory over Coral Gables with Lew Pytel scoring a touchdown in the closing minutes.
Whatever your
memorable moment may be - WE WANT TO HEAR ABOUT IT.
To nominate your most memorable Columbus Athletic Moments, email Stacey Munoz at: smunoz@columbushs.com.
You can nominate up to five moments per person. Please detail the moment (s) and include your name, CCHS graduation year,
and your contact information (phone number and e-mail address).
Kindly submit your nominations by February 28, 2010
