Columbus offers an extensive campus ministry program for the entire Columbus family. We seek to make Jesus known and loved through as many avenues as possible. While it is the role of the Office of Campus Ministry to direct activities which can help the school community foster their relationship with God, it is the entire school family that together forms our faith community.
Prayer & Mass : Prayer is an integral part of forming our relationship with God. Mass is offered daily in our chapel at 7:30 a.m. All students, faculty, staff and parents are welcome. Each morning during homeroom, a daily reflection and prayer is seen over the classroom televisions. Throughout the day, each class period is opened with a prayer. Our chapel is open throughout the day for students to drop by and say hello to Jesus through a prayer or just to take some quite time alone. Every Wednesday the Eucharist is exposed for adoration in our chapel. There are several occasions during the school year when certain classes or the entire school gathers to pray together; 1) at the opening of the school year, 2) the Father and Son Communion Breakfast, 3) All Saints Day, 4) the Alumni Memorial Mass, 5) Thanksgiving, 6) The Feast of the Immaculate Conception, 7) during the Christmas season, 8) the Mother and Son Communion Breakfast, 9) Junior Ring Mass, 10) Ash Wednesday, 11) during the Easter season, and 12) Baccalaureate Mass.
Catechesis: We work closely through the Campus Ministry and Religion programs to bring Christ’s message to the young men at Columbus. A complete program of religious education in the Roman Catholic tradition is offered. Religion classes are required to be taken in every year of a student’s life at Columbus. The program is designed to engage and empower students to become fully integrated Roman Catholic young men who will become tomorrow’s leaders in Miami and in the world.
Retreats: Columbus retreates offer students wonderful opportunities for spiritual growth.

L.I.F.E. (Living In Faith Experience) This is our youth group which meets every Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. It is one of the largest youth groups in Dade County wherein students are encouraged to explore their faith. Students minister to each other discussing the timely topics of life and faith. Every week a student leads a large group presentation then the youngsters break off into small groups where both teachers and students gather for a more in depth sharing opportunity.
Service: Our call as Christians, however, does not just rely on prayer and our relationship with God, but with our relationship with one another. Jesus tells us in the Gospel, "Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers and sisters, you do to me." In that light, we also offer services in which students and faculty can demonstrate their relationship with the Lord. Every student at Columbus is required to do a minimum of 75 hours of community service to earn the coveted Columbus diploma. Since service is so integral to the Christian journey,
we set aside the first weekend of every month for service opportunities. As an extension of the LIFE youth group, the teens are encouraged and joined by various faculty members to take an active part in the community. Some of the service projects include feeding the homeless, the life chain, visiting a local orphanage, participating in the “Columbus Open House” event, beach cleanups, and much more.

Leadership: Marcellin Champagnat was a leader who led by example, in that spirit our students are required to do the same. Our retreat leaders go through leadership workshops and must attend a retreat every year to maintain their status as leaders. Every year some of the youth leaders are chosen by the faculty and administration to attend the Marist Youth Leadership Program which is held in New York. Other leaders are chosen to attend workshops and programs throughout the United States.
