Education:  Bachelor of Arts from Marist College, Master of Arts from the University of Miami, Master of Philosophy from New York University, and a Master in Library Science from the University of Texas. He has had National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Fellowships at Whitman College, San Diego State and Western Washington Universities.
